Grenfell Live was born as the result of a social media campaign started by R&B artist Angel, who in the days following the tragic Grenfell Tower fire, put out a call to fellow musicians to come together and put on a benefit concert to raise funds for those affected.
The event will be held at the 5,000 capacity iconic Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith on Saturday 29th July 2017. General manager Darren Murphy commented regarding the show, saying, “What happened at Grenfell Tower was a terrible tragedy and our thoughts are with all of those that have been affected. With it being so close to home, Eventim Apollo are very happy to be supporting this benefit concert.”
Promoted by concert promotions company Musicalize, the concert will see some of the UK’s finest singers, rappers, MC’s and DJ’s come together for a one-off night of live music with all ticket proceeds being donated to The London Community Foundation who are working directly with the families who have been affected by the fire by providing emergency funding and grants that families have access to once the rehousing operation is fully underway.
Angel, Big Narstie, Ghetts, Jme, Shakka, Wretch 32 and WSTRN have all been confirmed so far, but expect more artists to be announced, as well as some special guests.
Tickets are priced from £22.50 and are available to buy here.
