The dust has barely settled on the ring in the light of Anthony Joshua’s historic win against Ukranian boxer Wladimir Klitschko and the date for their rematch has already been penciled in.

Joshua knocked out Klitschko in the 11th round of their battle in Wembley last month, cementing his position as WBA (Super) and IBO Heavyweight Champion of the world.

Currently it looks like the pair are set to face off again at Cardiff’s Principality in October of this year.

Heavyweight champ Joshua is staying active regardless, his promoter Eddie Hearn told Starsport, “If Klitschko comes back and says he doesn’t want a rematch then we will fight Pulev next, unquestionably.”

Hearn does reckon that Kitschko is up for the rematch, also saying  “I believe Klitschko will go ahead with the rematch so we are looking at dates.” The only thing standing in their way currently however is the Welsh Rugby schedule, as he went on to say, “The Principality Stadium is not really available in November because of rugby so 28 October is the option. Most of December is available but I don’t really want to go that late.”

So it looks like the rematch is definitely on the cards and Joshua’s peopledem want it to happen sooner rather than later. Either way we know the whole country will be getting behind our boy once again cheering him on to retain his title. We’re just wondering what banger he’ll be walking out to next time…
