AntsLive has been making a name for himself throughout the wider UK rap scene as an alternative voice you simply have to take notice of. Whilst tracks last year such as “Tweakin” and “Skeet” demonstrated his undeniable ability it was his recent release “Number One Candidate” which catapulted him into the consciousness of the national audience.
Riding a stallion through picturesque plains, he raps with conviction and swagger lines such as “I gotta let my skin fade marinate, we gotta toast up, celebrate”. It was a rare case of when both an expertly thought out song and video combined to great effect, creating a composite art piece that stood alone as a complete breath of fresh air to the scene.
Naturally, people now want to learn all about the man that is AntsLive and how his perspective on music and life has contributed to his current unique standing. As a result, he joined Omar Howard for an interview on Capital Xtra to discuss everything from his come-up to just how he managed to pull off those iconic shots of him riding a horse.
The result is an interview full of precious gems which offer real insight into the mindset of AntsLive. Spoiler; he did learn to ride horses just for the video and it wasn’t as easy as he made it look.
