Apple just announced its latest iPhone, the second generation iPhone SE.

The phone is supposedly one the most affordable models to date but is said to be no less powerful. Revealing the new phone on its website, Apple says it’s only setting customers back £419 and will be available for pre-order from April 17.

Phil Schiller, Worldwide Marketing’s senior vice president of Apple, said that despite the ‘compact design’ the SE still packs a punch, boasting a 4.7-inch Retina HD display, as well as both the fastest chip and best camera ever for an iPhone.
It’s like getting an iPhone 11 in the body of an iPhone 8.

Mr.
Schiller said: “The first iPhone SE was a hit with many customers who loved its unique combination of small size, high-end performance and affordable price; the new second-generation iPhone SE builds on that great idea and improves on it in every way – including our best-ever single-camera system for great photos and videos – while still being very affordable.
“iPhone SE features the industry-leading performance of A13 Bionic that enables great battery life, takes stunning Portrait mode and Smart HDR photos, shoots amazing videos with stereo audio, is great for games and super fast web surfing, and is built with the same industry-leading security features our customers expect. We can’t wait to get iPhone SE into customers’ hands.”
While the iPhone 11 did use face recognition, the new SE is a Touch ID-based handset.
The Apple iPhone SE is available to pre-order from Friday 17 April.
