In the wake of the recent Manchester attack, last night Ariana Grande performed a charity concert in the city, accompanied by a plethora of international pals.

Acts on the bill included Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Coldplay and Liam Gallagher.

Rumours that the concert would be cancelled due to safety concerns after the multiple attacks in London on Saturday night were quickly squashed and the powerful event went ahead as planned.

Now, the day after the concert the British Red Cross has confirmed that the event raised almost £2.5 million to aid victim’s families. This money combined with the money donated to the organisation’s Manchester Emergency Fund prior to the concert means over £9.6 million has been raised in total.

The purpose of the fund is in hopes it “will help alleviate immediate suffering and ensure victims and their families do not face short-term financial difficulties.”
