In a previous interview with Time Out New York, Rocky insisted that he doesn’t want to talk about the political issues he sees on TV because he’s “not there.” During last weekend, the interview came back into circulation, leading Rocky to go on a rant on Twitter which he later deleted.
He says in the interview, “I did not sign up to be no political activist. I wanna talk about my motherfuckin’ lean, my best friend dying, the girls that come in and out of my life, the jiggy fashion that I wear, my new inspirations in drugs! I don’t wanna talk about no fucking Ferguson and shit because I don’t live over there! I live in fucking Soho and Beverly Hills. I can’t relate.”
Yesterday he dropped by The Breakfast Club for a long interview in which he addressed the original drama, trying to wipe the slate clean. But, unfortunately it seems like he’s actually just dug himself deeper into the controversy hole.
During the conversation with the station he labels the Black Lives Matter movement as a “bandwagon”, and says he believes that “all lives matter.” Regarding the backlash he got after the initial interview, he compares himself to Bill Cosby adding, “I do know he’s innocent.”
Yeah, Rocky… Maybe we should leave the political activism to Kendrick…
