A$AP Rocky has been found guilty of assault following a brawl which took place in Stockholm, Sweden in June.

The Harlem rapper was handed a suspended sentence by the Stockholm District Court earlier today. In its ruling, the Court said: “The defendants have claimed that they acted in self-defence. Based on statements from two witnesses, the court finds that the defendants were not subject to a current or imminent criminal attack.

“Therefore, they were not in a situation where they were entitled to use violence in self-defence. Nor could they have perceived themselves to be in such a situation.”

Since being detained by Swedish authorities in July, Rocky has maintained that he acted in self-defence after he was being harassed on the streets of Stockholm.

A$AP Rocky was detained in Sweden from July 3rd to August 2nd and during that time, many famous names campaigned for the artist’s release including the likes of Kanye West, Kim Kardashian and Donald Trump.

Over the weekend, the “Praise The Lord” rapper performed at Real Street Festival in California where he spoke on his time in jail, describing the events as a “scary, humbling experience”.
