American alt-rock band Negativland have an innovate gift they are posting out to fans who buy physical CDs of their new album The Chopping Channel; two grams.
Nope, not two grams of that, but two grams of ash. Two grams of former band mate Don Joyce’s cremated ashes to be precise.
In a message on their merch website, the band said, “In keeping with the album’s theme, and while supplies last, each mail order copy of this new project comes with two very unique extra items: two grams of the actual cremains, or ashes, of deceased Negativland member Don Joyce, and one of Don’s handmade audio tape loop ‘carts’ used in the creation of Over The Edge and Negativland live performances between 1981 and 2015.”
The San Francisco natives formed Negativland in the late 70’s, with their latest album The Chopping Channel – which comes out Oct 21st – being their 14th studio album.
