Whether you know him as rapper Bashy, or actor Ashley Thomas (most recently coming to our screens in ITV series ‘Beowulf’, as well as shining on the second series of ‘Top Boy’) you know that he is exceptionally talented.

So it comes to no surprise that he’s been cast as a lead in the new ’24’ series. The reboot of the ever-popular US show sees Bashy play Isaac Carter, brother to the shows lead protagonist Eric.

With no word as to when ’24: Legacy’ will be aired, it’s safe to say we’re going to be keeping our eyes peeled, on what is bound to be some amazing progress for one of our finest homegrown talents.

Fans of the original may still be slightly disappointing however, as original character Jack Bauer wont be returning. Fox network’s CEO Gary Newman said, “Obviously we would love to have Kiefer and we went to him first. It isn’t something he wants to do at this point, but he encouraged us to continue and look for a way to bring the show back.”

The reboot centers on military hero Eric Carter (Corey Hawkins) and chronicles his return to the U.S. and the trouble that follows him back, including  stopping what potentially could be one of the largest-scale terror attacks on American soil. Bashy’s character Isaac is angry at Eric due to their bitter past (which includes Eric now married to Isaac’s former link, Nicole (Anna Diop).

With all that being said, it makes us proud to see Bashy about to kill it stateside – congratulations!
