The BBC have announced a new festival taking place next year, which will be sure to cure your Glastonbury blues.

With Glasto’ not taking place next year, the BBC today announced The Biggest Weekend, a four day event taking place over the May Bank Holiday (25th- 28th May).

Unlike Glasto, which takes place on Worthy Farm, The Biggest Weekend will be held in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, with over 175,000 tickets up for grabs.

Although the line-up is yet to be announced, Bob Shennan, Director of BBC Radio and Music said,
We will be celebrating the diversity of music from four different corners of the country, bringing the best UK music to the world and the best global music to the UK.”

The one-off music festival will be fully covered by the BBC with  Radio 1, Radio 2, Radio 3 and 6 Music all broadcasting live sets from the weekend, while BBC Two and BBC Four will lead the TV coverage.
