Hackney-born artist Bel Cobain returns with “Change,” the third single from her forthcoming EP Kizzy. Co-written with Fred Cox, the track highlights her expansive and unconventional sound, shaped in part by a childhood steeped in psychedelic and alternative rock, thanks to her anthropologist and musician mother.
Kizzy emerges as a deeply transitional project, written over 18 months of sporadic studio sessions, often while sofa surfing and navigating a period marked by personal loss and change—grief, the end of relationships, and the closing of significant chapters. Named in memory of her late dog, who passed as the EP neared completion, the six-track release—featuring earlier singles “Am I Dumb” and “Fucking City”—weaves together a rich tapestry of influences, from rock and jazz to R&B, hip hop, folk, and breaks.
