In the ever evolving business we call music, streaming and playlisting is becoming increasingly important. Getting in the right playlists on services such as Spotify and Apple Music can really help amplify your music and help it reach a wider audience.

One of the most desired playlists around at the moment is Spotify’s “New Music Friday” which has quickly become the go to playlist for new music discovery every week, so it’s only right we round up the best tracks from there, for you!

Emeli Sande – “Breathing Underwater”

We’ll kick things off with beautiful “Breathing Underwater” by the amazing Emeli Sande. This month has seen the hugely successful Scottish singer return with “Hurts” and the Jay Electronica assisted “Garden” and her latest offering from sophomore album Long Live The Angels shows us that she has not lost her touch at all.

Drake – “Fake Love”

Following Ms Sande, is Drizzy Drake with “Fake Love”. This is the first solo material we’ve heard from Drake since Views and it’s part of the new project More Life which he announced on OVO Sound Radio this Wednesday. Drake sent the UK crazy with his remix of Dave’s “Wanna Know“, so this banger slipped under the radar a little bit, but after a few listens it gets highly addictive and raises excitement for More Life to a new level. Can this man do any wrong?

Ray BLK ft. Wretch 32 – “Gone”

Ah, new Ray BLK . What a beautiful, beautiful voice. Matched with one of the best lyricists in the country, this is an absolute must listen! Check out her EP Durt now for new music and some of our favourites, including “My Hood“.

Ray Blizzy the voice of the damn city!

New Gen, Avelino & Tiggs Da Author – “Ring The Alarm”

Next up, we have the exciting first cut from XL Recordings forthcoming New Gen album! The bouncy joint see’s Tiggs Da Author combine with lyricist Avelino, for catchy new track “Ring The Alarm”. This is going to get wheeled multiple times this weekend and judging by the SICK billboard, this is only the start of the fire on New Gen.

George The Poet ft. DEVolution – Wake Up

If there was still any doubt in your mind about George The Poet’s position as one of the best rappers in the country then this should eliminate it. Sick lyrics, mellow delivery and a hard beat equals a wavy new track. Plus I’m loving the artwork!

Etta Bond & Chris Loco – All Of My Love

Etta Bond has consistently been putting out sick music for years and this is no different. Her amazing vocals are accompanied on this one by Chris Loco who actually appears on this feature for a second as he’s also the man behind Emeli Sande’s “Breathing Underwater”. What Loco does to the beat at two minutes in is NUTS, check it out now!

Mic Righteous – The Kids (and whole of Dreamland)

This Mic Righteous album has been a long time coming. Ever since he burst onto the scene with his SBTV Warm Up Session we’ve been wanting an album and finally it’s here! My favourite offering from debut album Dreamland has to be “The Kids”, production is cold and Righteous’ flow over the drums go perfectly. Check it out and support that real UK music now.

KIN – Let Go Of The Summer (ft. Robbie Jay)

Lastly, I’ve got to show some love to my boy KIN who’s debut single “Let Go Of The Summer” is out now. Not the usual GRM type of track but a huge new talent nonethless and this new banger fits right at home in the clubs.

So there you have it! Our favourites from this Friday! Hopefully you enjoy the roundup! Consider this a pilot.. if you enjoyed it then share and if stats agree we’ll be back with 002 next Friday!

Love
