The Lion King is on everyone’s list of favourite childhood films and many have been waiting with baited breath for any more details on the the forthcoming live action remake of the 1994 Disney classic.
The stars-studded cast has finally been revealed for the leading roles and as the rumours previously suggested, Beyoncé is set to play Nala alongside Donald Glover AKA Childish Gambino, who will be playing Simba. The iconic voice of James Earl Jones will be making a reappearance as he will be reprising his role as Mufasa, Simba’s father.
While Chiwetel Ejiofor, star of 12 Years a Slave, will have the job of bringing our childhood nightmares to life as Scar. On a more lighthearted note, the dynamic duo of Timon and Pumba will be played by Billy Eichner and Seth Rogan respectively.
The film is due for a summer 2019 release, here’s hoping for a trailer in the not too distant future. Check out the full line-up below.
