Big Sean has dropped his new single “Deep Reverence” – off of his upcoming album Detroit 2 – alongside a posthumous feature from Nipsey Hussle.
After a lengthy hiatus from making music, Sean is back with a new single with the late Nipsey Hussle; allowing Sean to delve in on his past in the game, and how the death of Nip forced him to reflect on his infamous beef with Kendrick Lamar.
“After what happened to Nipsey, I reached out to Kendrick/It wasn’t even no real issues there to begin with/Lack of communication and wrong information,” Sean states on the track
Earlier on this year Big Sean spoke on the apparent beef in a conversation with Joe Budden on his Pull Up series, saying: “One of the people that, especially after Nipsey died was important for me to connect with was Kendrick,” he told Budden.
“Me and Kendrick got a history of songs […] When this whole Big Sean, Kendrick beef was going on, it was something I wish I would have spoken up about because there was nothing.”
The release of “Deep Reverence” comes after Sean announced his forthcoming album Detroit 2 will drop on September 4th.
