After a turbulent past few years between the pair, Birdman got on stage at the Lil’ Weezyana Fest to offer a public apology to who his “surrogate son”, Lil Wayne.
Yesterday (25 August), Weezy brought out Birdman during his set at the annual festival in his home state of New Orleans and Birdman used the opportunity to apologise to the Young Money boss.
“It feels amazing to be home f*cking with my son, I love that n**ga to death” Birdman said after the pair performed together, “I knew this day was gon’ come but I ain’t know when it was gon’ come.
“But this n**ga right here? The best n**ga, the realest n**ga, the illest n**ga. And I wanted to apologise to my n**ga worldwide.”
The apology comes after a lengthy and bitter legal feud between the two regarding Lil Wayne’s contract with Cash Money.
Earlier this year, the pair were seen hugging at a club which suggested they had let bygones be bygones. Things were also looking up between the two when Lil Wayne was able to reach a legal settlement with Birdman and Cash Money records in June.
Birdman’s apology is an official mark of their reconciliation and it looks like we might finally be able to listen to the long-awaited Carter V album in the near future.
