Blade Brown was the inaugural artist to perform for us on GRM Radio, where we bring classic discographies to life in a live setting with the help of The Compozers. Hearing music performed with a live band really elevates the listening experience, as we get to hear some of our favourite tracks like we’ve never heard them before.

Not many artists in the industry can boast a catalogue as expansive as Blade Brown’s with over two decades in the game, and 11 mixtapes to choose from, narrowing it down to just six was no mean feat. Old heads will no doubt be well aware of the originals, but for those who aren’t, we thought it would be important to shine a light on the original tracks that were behind Blade Brown’s brilliant performance on GRM Radio, take in the list in full below, and let us know who you want to see on GRM Radio next.

“Break Bread”

A certified B Brown classic, dropping way back in 2014, this track was the lead single from the second instalment of his classic Bags And Boxes series. The beat lends itself really well towards live instrumentation and The Compozers do a great job of porting it.

In The Air

Blade Brown takes on a classic made famous by Beanie Sigel. The Battersea native lays down the lavish tales of the trap that he’s become known for in epic fashion over the Swifta Beater production.

“Dont You Ever Go”

Dropping way back in 2011, Blade Brown continues his run with another UK rap classic. To have such longevity in an industry as fickle and capricious as the music industry, is really a testament to Blade Brown’s artistry.

“12 Summers”

A certified trappers anthem, Blade Brown once again proves why he’s one of the best when it comes to stylised drug raps. A cursory look at the comments will tell you that views aside, this is most certainly a bonafide fan favourite.

“Xtra Time” Feat K Trap

Blade Brown Blesses us with another banger for the streets, this time joined by his brother in arms, K-Trap. Long before the hype around joint projects became a thing thanks to Dave & Central Cee’s EP, Split Decision, Blade Brown was one of the forefathers. Working with Giggs way back in ’07 on Hollow Meets Blade, a classic that still holds weight today. He’d repeat the trick with K Trap 15 years later, releasing a project aptly titled Joints.

“Bags And Boxes 3 Intro”

The opening track off of Bags and Boxes 3, Blade once again joins forces with Swifta Beater on the buttons for another two minute forty second depiction of Blade’s trials and tribulations. Vivid as ever, Blade Brown has always had a gift for storytelling.
