As the hip-hop community waits patiently for Bobby Shmurda’s release, an update has been given on his legal status.

Rumours swirled on social media earlier this month that Bobby was set to be released in August but now a spokesperson for the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision has confirmed that Bobby’s expected August parole hearing has been pushed back.

Speaking to Complex, they said, “Ackquille Pollard’s Board of Parole interview is currently scheduled for the week of September 14”.

If the interview goes ahead on time, the parole board have two weeks from their initial interview to decide whether or not to grant early release.

Without parole, Bobby’s latest possible release date for his conspiracy and weapons possession charges would be on or around December 2021.

The spokesperson also confirmed that Rowdy Rebel, rapper and close friend of Bobby Shmurda, is expected out in December – “On August 11, 2020, the Board of Parole granted Chad Marshall an open date of release of December 15, 2020”
