Boomtown Fair fell into chaos this weekend as a fire at a campsite destroyed over 80 cars today.

Six fire crews battled the blaze in Hampshire on Friday afternoon as it ruined the second day of the festival for loads of campers.

An investigation is being carried out into the cause of the inferno, which started around 4:15pm.

A spokesperson from fire and rescue services said, “On arrival firefighters were faced with a large blaze involving approximately 80 vehicles, all of which were destroyed in the fire, but fortunately no injuries were reported.

“The Boomtique campsite next to the car park was evacuated as a precaution, but suffered no damage.”

A festival goer told GRM, “A car set on fire and apparently set off the other cars. I could hear alarms going off and windows breaking.”
