UK prime minister Boris Johnson is said to be “improving” and “sitting up in bed” just days after he was taken into intensive care due to his coronavirus symptoms.
The update on Johnson’s health was delivered by Chancellor Rishi Sunak when speaking at today’s daily conference regarding COVID-19.
“The latest from the hospital is the prime minister remains in intensive care where his condition is improving,” the chancellor said.
“I can also tell you that he has been sitting up in bed and engaging positively with the clinical team.”
Sunak’s update on Boris Johnson’s health comes two days after the prime minister was taken into intensive care after suffering persistent symptoms of coronavirus.
