In a bid to reduce the spread of coronavirus, the UK’s prime minister Boris Johnson has now ordered restaurants, bars, cafes and gyms to close from tonight (March 20).
Boris Johnson made the announcement when giving his daily update on the government’s response to coronavirus this afternoon.
Clubs, theatres and leisure centres have also been told to close amid the pandemic.
The order from the prime minister comes after the death toll for those diagnosed with the infection reached 177, while the number of confirmed cases currently stands at 3,269.
Earlier this week, schools in the UK were ordered to close until further notice.
