There have been many catastrophic results of the Brexit vote, whether it’s the fact that we may have to all start applying for visas when we want to gallivant across Europe or maybe it’s the fact that the pound is now at a rather shocking 168-year low.
But let’s forget all that, as what has really got people’s riled up is the fact that we are seeing some of our favourite products disappearing from the shelves due to the rise in prices post Brexit. Unilever has had to increase the price of many of these products due to the plummeting value of the pound, which Tesco has opposed resulting in many of these products being removed from their website.
One of these much loved products is Marmite. Marmite is a staple of the most quintessentially British households and the possibility of a shortage of the stuff has sent Twitter into frenzy. Let’s just hope that this conflict can be resolved quickly so our mornings need not be without the much beloved Marmite. All our fingers are crossed.
