A British couple from West London, have been sentenced to 33 years in prison for exporting £700 Million worth of cocaine to Australia.

The couple, Arti Dhir, 59, and her husband Kaval Raijada, 35 both from Hanwell, Ealing smuggled seven tonnes of the drug to Australia over a number of years, it’s believed that they had even set up a car wash (Breaking Bad Esque) in order to launder the obscene profits they were making. Both Dhir, and Raijada worked for an air freight company for a number of years prior, and this is where it is believed that they learnt about possible weaknesses to exploit for their cocaine smuggling operation.

On top of their drug offences, the couple also narrowly escaped extradition to India on alleged charges of double murder. They are believed to have put together a plot for their 11 year old adopted son to be killed for a life insurance pay out. The child’s brother in law was also killed as he tragically tried to defend the 11 year old, both of them later died of their injuries in hospital.

Cocaines street value is three times what it fetches here in the UK, and is believed to have been the motivation for why that was decided as the destination to traffic the drug to. Both Dhir and Raijada denied any wrongdoing, and claimed that their wealth was from legitimate sources.
