After not being cool for years, some truth has finally begun to circulate about what caused Cam’rom and Jim Jones to become estranged all those years ago.
Jones shone light on the events first in an interview with Funkmaster Flex, saying he always had Cam’s back but that the support wasn’t returned. He went on to get deep, fighting back tears while telling telling Flex, “There’s never been a time when I backed down from any situation in this world, except God. And I’ve been up against 20, 30 deep by myself when niggas left me by myself. And I escaped those situations and still come back and give niggas high-five.”
Cam then brought his side of the story to the table last night during a two-hour Instagram live. Starting right at the start of his career before moving on to the drama. He said he’d always had Jones’ back: “How the hell was I hating, when I was advocating for this dude to become a rapper? That shit is lies, bro. Word to my mama.”
He also disagreed with Jones’ claims that he enforced Dipset. “He was not my muscle. He was my man. He was my hypeman. We didn’t grow up together. We got cool at 20 years old. Jim never had the guns, B…I had the guns. Google it.”
The rapper then went on to discuss Jones’ beef with his fellow Love & Hip Hop star Mendeecees over Jones’ partner Chrissy and Yandy Smith. Mendeecees even belled into Cam’s livestream from prison to talk about his own beef with Jones. Tense.
In Cam’s eyes, there were a couple of things that led to the fall out. The first was Jones asking him to fake beef a few years back, another was Cam making “Tricky Ricky” shirts to take the piss out of Jones’ relationship with Chrissy.
Despite the petty stuff, Cam says he still has love for Jones. “I want Jim to succeed. I’m happy he’s happy. I don’t know if he’s happy or not. I want him to win,” he told his followers. “I don’t got no beef with you…I really love you.”
