Cardi B’s new album is coming

13 April 2019

Cardi B has hinted that her second studio album will drop later this year but revealed that she is feeling the “pressure” to deliver a quality piece of work that lives up to the standards of her debut.

The Bronx hailing femcee kept the details surrounding her new release to a minimum but did reveal in a red carpet interview with Variety that she has been in the studio working on new music with the aim of releasing a new project.

Cardi said, “I just know that I’m starting to prepare myself now because I’m really trying to put out an album for this year, but my last album, Invasion of Privacy, it just went three times platinum, so now it’s just like, aw snap. It’s big pressure on me. It’s like aw snap, what the hell am I going to come up with?”.

Cardi B’s debut album Invasion of Privacy housed the singles “Bodak Yellow” and “I Like It” which topped the American charts and the album saw her win the Best Rap Album prize at the 2019 Grammy Awards which marked a pivotal moment in female rap and hip-hop history.

2019 will be a busy year for Cardi as she set to perform several festival dates including at the UK’s own Wireless Festival and Parklife. Cardi B was initially set to perform at Wireless Festival last year but pulled out after announcing her pregnancy.
