Treating us to a brand-new single titled “Boys Will Be Boys” is the elusive rapper CASISDEAD!
To many CASISDEAD is regarded as one of the UK’s finest lyricists and he proves just why he should be mentioned in that conversation once again on this latest offering.
Combining his storytelling skills with an 80s-inspired production, CAS tells the narrative of a woman caught up in the showbiz world while shedding light on the cost of fame. Like the track, the Ed Skrein-directed visuals focus on the dark side of stardom and follow an actress (played by Emma Rigby) as she becomes overwhelmed at a movie premiere.
“I wrote this film as a response to my unsettling experiences in front of the paparazzi,” Skrein said. “The glare of the paparazzi is a sharp dagger, the flame of celebrity attracts many moths. I was lucky to go through this later in my life when I was mature enough to see it for what it is.
“After hearing CASISDEAD’s reflective lyrics on “Boys Will Be Boys”, it made me consider my own experiences through the lens of a young, naïve actress.
“Boys Will Be Boys” is the second single to be released from CAS’ highly-anticipated album, following on from his big comeback single “Park Assist” featuring La Roux.
