Munchies have released a new video featuring rapper Central Cee, who visits Umana Yana, a beloved Guyanese restaurant in Southeast London.
Run by Debbie and Junior Monfries, the restaurant has been serving fresh, authentic Caribbean food for over a decade. However, business has struggled for the past 12 years after telecom boxes were built outside, impacting trade. The local community, including Cench – who has Guyanese heritage – has rallied behind the family in their fight with the council. In the video, he learns about the challenges they face and how to make their signature dishes worth defending.
