Chance The Rapper is a real one that’s for sure.

The Chicago born artist has always been passionate about being independent from record labels and providing his music to listeners totally free.

And the 23-year-old’s passion and drive is already changing and shaping the entire music industry. At last week’s Grammy awards he became the first artist who gives his music away for free to ever win a Grammy. Man is changing the whole industry out here.

Now, in another bold move, it’s been reported that Chance has turned down $10 millions in record deals in order to stay 100% in control of his music and image.

The news was reported by the NY Post with an insider telling them “Every label is still trying to get him. He’s making too much on his own… He was turning down $5 million advances before, and now it’s like $10 million.”

Speaking to Vanity Fair Chance said he has no intention of ever selling his music, instead he lives off the money he makes from touring and selling merchandise. He said “I honestly believe if you put effort into something and you execute properly, you don’t necessarily have to go through the traditional ways.”
