Whoever presented the first episode of Saturday Night Live post election was going to have a hell of a time. This week America blew the Brexit hype out of the water by electing certified madman Donald Trump as their president. The classic political satire show, which has been running for over forty years, is famed for its tongue in cheek retelling of the week’s news with its notoriously hit and miss live sketches.
Despite the Trump-heavy content, the most popular sketch of the night by far had to be one of the prerecorded segments simply called “Walking Dead Chappelle’s Show”. If the title isn’t a give away enough, the clip is a parody of that now infamous season 6 finale/season 7 opener of The Walking Dead in which double hard b-stard Negan literally bust one of Rick’s don’s brains out of his head.
The parody features all our favourite classic Chappelle Show characters, which many will have thought we may never see again, including Tyrone Biggums, Clayton Bigsby, Silky, Chuck Taylor, and that scarily accurate “Lil Jon” impersonation you may have forgotten about.
After choosing Tyrone Biggums as his victim, fake Negan swiftly decapitates your childhood crackhead who then goes on a bizarre CGI filled rant about Americans sticking together in midst of elections, probably just to fulfill their political quota for the sketch. We’re just gutted there was no “Rick James” appearance.
