Chiedu Oraka has dropped his new single ‘Rhythm Of My Pain‘ alongside announcing his debut mixtape Misfit, set to drop on April 26th.
On this latest single, the Hull-based artist bars are an introspective poetic commentary describing the black, working-class experience, specifically of the north with his vulnerabilities on full display. He details his dreams and aspirations as well as his struggle with mental health, while still showing his dedication to succeed.
The instrumental has a bouncy yet mellow beat, courtesy of Lucy Turner, allowing for Oraka’s darker and self-analysing lyrics to contrast with the more upbeat tempo. The music video, filmed by Blue Sea Pictures and edited by Benny J. Smith and Liam Walker, is shot in black and white which adds to the brooding atmosphere.
