On another episode of the Halfcast Podcast, Chuckie and Poet speak upon the matter regarding DJ’s in today’s musical climate.
In response to a statement made by Giggs, who explained that some UK DJ’s are sometimes a bit of a let down, the duo speak about where the raving scene has come from, tracking back to their own days as adolescents, to where the raving scene is at now and whether or not situations and circumstances have changed.
In speaking on the clubbing scene in North London, where both hosts were actively engaged and immersed in, they touch on an array of discussion points, from DJ’s such as former Choice FM pioneer Masterstepz, to the unfortunate stabbing culture, which infected London clubs, earlier in the decade.
When delving deeper into the topic of DJ’s, they discuss how DJ’s have gone from being the influencer and tastemaker, to more of a facilitative role in simply accommodating to an oversaturated market.
Have a listen to the conversation above, before being sure to watch the previous episode, in which the pair speak with Jammer to address his recent interview on Radar Radio, right here on GRM Daily.
