In response to the current refugee crisis and the number of displaced Syrians fleeing for their lives across the world, we are proud to host a one off live music event at THE NEST in Dalston on October 19th to show support for the cause. The night, hosted by Beats1 and PlayIt Show’s Julie Adenuga, comprises a line up of some of the Grime and UK Rap scene’s biggest names.
The artists that will be taking to the stage to show solidarity with these men, women and children, reiterating the value of each individual’s life include Chip, Logan Sama, Youngs Teflon and Jevon, amongst others yet to be announced.
All profits made from the event will go towards the purchase of food and hygiene items for the refugees currently in Serbia and all supplies will be delivered to them in person via a team of volunteers heading over to affected areas at the end of the month.
Caroline SM (GRM Daily Editor) explains her involvement in the curation of #GRIMEAID: “It’s really important for the world to know that we as a British music scene can come together to support causes outside of our circle. The horrific images seen on TV and newspapers daily have touched a lot of people and all the artists performing on the night have expressed their understanding and support, which just highlights how positive the Grime scene really is.”
Ra’ed Khan who is travelling to Serbia later this month to provide aid to the refugees adds, “The situation there is getting worse daily especially with the winter ahead, the money this event will raise will make countless lives desperate for basic necessities a tad easier. It is an honour to be a part of such a great cause”.
Tickets are £5 online can be purchased here, on the door will be £8. Doors open at 7PM and the show starts at 8PM.
Every ticket purchase will make a difference so let’s show our support and celebrate our solidarity with a night of good music and good people.
