Coolie has enlisted the likes of Jaz Dhami, JAY1, Temz, Tana, J Fado and Hargo to create a new single titled “Kisan”.
Since August 2020, farmers in India have been protesting against three farm acts which were passed by the Parliament. Under the laws, the dispute mechanism doesn’t allow farmers to go to court but rather, will be brought before a bureaucrat they believe will favour big business and is not supported by sufficient regulation.
As a result of this, they want the reform acts to be scrapped.
To raise awareness of the issue, producer Coolie has created a powerful track with Jaz Dhami, JAY1, Temz, Tana, J Fado and Hargo which shows support for the protestors, as well as criticises the UK media for not covering the protests enough.
All proceeds of “Kisan” will go to Khalsa Aid International supporting the farmers cause.
