South London’s Crafty 893 has finally treated us to his debut album, Smart Dumb.
As well as being a talented MC, Crafty is also a cold producer and both these aspects of his artistry are showcased on his first ever LP as he handles the production on nine out of the ten tracks; enlisting Sir Spyro on the recently released “Wotless”.
Crafty is able to use his sharp flows and quick-paced production style to form a grimey project on Smart Dumb and assisting the artist in adding to it’s high-energy nature are the likes of Big Zuu and Manga Saint Hilare who appear on “Back It” and “Top Ten” – which contains a sample from J. Cole’s “Rich N****z” – respectively.
“This LP is professional re-releases of songs from my old mixtapes/EP Not Bad and Dumb with a host of new tunes,” Crafty said of the album. “This record showcases all the different sides to my production and bars – and is a progression of where I’m at now.”
