Police in Wisconsin over in America are investigating a viral video, in relation to a missing teenage girl from back in 2009.
The viral video – titled “Hi Walter! I got a new gf today!” – was originally posted in October 2009, two months after Kayla Berg, who was 15 at the time, went missing.
It features a relatively creepy geezer telling his unseen friend Walter about his new girlfriend, who he describes as “wonderful.” Things get serious when the camera pans around to reveal a woman tied up in his bathroom, screaming for help.
The clip has since been removed from YouTube, but reportedly amassed over one million views. Only recently has it picked up traction however, having as little as 6000 views not so long ago.
Hope Springer, Kayla’s mother, said, ““[It] sounded like her, looked like her, it gave me chills. Disturbing. It made me sick to my stomach.”
Police are now investigating the video fully and are looking to identify the man featured. Local police Chief Eric Roller has said, “We’ve taken a lot of tips in on who could possibly be seen in that video.
“We really want to identify the subject that made that video,” he continued. “If we can identify that and find out if it’s real or not, that’s going to be our best bet.”
Kayla has been missing since she was dropped off at her boyfriend’s house. The case in ongoing.
