This week we are paying homage to Nike’s annual Black History Month (BHM) collection, this year found in the form of Kobe 11 Low, Lebron 13, KD8 and Kyrie 2 silhouettes. The collection celebrates black history and heritage, and also contributes financial support to Nike’s Ever Higher Fund, created to bring sport and mentorship to African American kids.

The shoes are inspired by the sporting achievements of Kobe Bryant, Sanya Richards, Chris Paul and Serena Williams, and are released alongside a capsule collection of clothes, all of which you can check out here. And, if you want your youngers to get involved, most of the collection is available in kids sizes too!

They are all available now from Nike, Footasylum, Foot Patrol and END, and are all finished with TBHM tongue branding, and “Power of One” written on the insole.

Firstly, the Kobe 11 silhouette holds a black and blue colourway with multi-coloured accenting on it’s FlyKnit upper, and sits on a white midsole.

The Lebron 13 features a traditional Kente print, known across Africa for it’s bright and bold colours. The pattern appears on a black base and white midsole, accented with a translucent outsole.

The Kyrie 2 silhouette features a mainly black embossed upper, and is wonderfully brightened by a multi-coloured strap and laces. The best part of this edition has to be the sole though, where under the black midsole is a tri-toned fused outer sole.GRM Daily

The final shoe of the collection is the KD8 BHM, and features the same laces as the Kyrie 2, but with interestingly the African print this time appears on the Nike swoosh. The shoe sits atop a speckled midsole and blue and translucent fused outer sole.

Nike have also released special iD prints for the Roshe Run.
