Cristiano Ronaldo is set to rejoin Manchester United, the club has confirmed.
Man United confirmed the news on Twitter this afternoon, writing: “Welcome home, @Cristiano.”
In an official statement, the club said they have reached an agreement to sign Ronaldo from Juventus, “subject to agreement of personal terms, visa and medical.”
Prior to leaving Manchester United for Real Madrid in 2009, Ronaldo spent six seasons with the Red Devils where he scored 118 goals in 292 games.
In 2018, the Portuguese star left Madrid for Juventus in a deal worth 100 million euros. He currently has less than 12 months of his contract at Juventus.
Yesterday it was rumoured he could be signing for Manchester City but earlier today they confirmed they were no longer interested, allowing United to swoop in for some urgent talks.
“Everyone at the club looks forward to welcoming Cristiano back to Manchester,” the club said in an official statement.
