Dave and Sir David Attenborough are set to team up for a special edition of Attenborough’s BBC Planet Earth series.
Due to air later this summer, Planet Earth: A Celebration plans to ‘lift people’s spirits’ by displaying animals ‘surviving and thriving in some of the world’s most challenging environments – offering a message of hope to humanity’.
Sir David Attenborough will provide narration for the special, while Dave will join the BBC Concert Orchestra to perform on the grand piano.
On the project, Dave said: “I’ve always been a fan of powerful natural history documentaries. This is a programme where nature and music come together.”
Dave will work work with composer Hans Zimmer who is known for scoring films such as The Dark Knight and Pirates Of The Caribbean.
“Working with David on so many of his magnificent programs celebrating nature and our planet has been a joy for me,” Zimmer said.
“I am constantly inspired by what he is able to capture, and the collection of sequences featured in Planet Earth: A Celebration is truly special.”
