Deontay Wilder known has now claimed that he wasn’t himself on the night of his most recent fight against Tyson Fury.
Speaking to Premier Boxing Champions’ podcast, Wilder said: “People that know boxing, know that it wasn’t Deontay Wilder on that night. I was a zombie on that night”.
He admits that something was wrong and that no one should be surprised by his desire to fight again. Tyson Fury floored Wilder twice during their rematch in February, and are expected to fight again in October. Wilder had been previously undefeted in 43 and has been seen as one of boxing’s all-time hardest punchers.
Wilder also told the podcast that he doesn’t see Fury as a champion, saying: “[Fury] ain’t the champion yet because we’ve still got one more fight left.”
