After being arrested earlier this week and taken to court with three misdemeanor counts of menacing and drug possession, Desiigner (real name Sidney Royal Selby) was released without bail on Saturday. He was involved in an issue between his car and the driver of another car, who claimed Desiigner pointed a gun at him.
His three friends who were in the car with him were each held with a count of misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.
Desiigner’s lawyer told the judge that the claims that he pointed a gun from the car were completely made up, and the feds never found a weapon. “There’s nothing here. There’s nothing recovered,” said the attorney, Adam Konta. “There really is nothing here.”
The lawyer of Desiigner’s three friends argued the same. “These three gentlemen are really accused of nothing,” attorney Ian Niles said. “It’s dangerous to say that just because there were four black men in a car they had guns and drugs.”
As he climbed into a BMW outside of court, Desiigner shared some inspirational words. “They tried to keep me in but when you’re doing right they can’t,” he said. He later linked with Tyga and went on a shopping spree at the Gucci store.
Unfortunately, Desiigner’s driver didn’t get away so easily. 42 year old Scott Siegel received felony drug charges when police found a bunch of pills and some methamphetamines in his car and gym bag. He was also charged with forgery for carrying two fake active-duty firefighter plaques with him.
