Dillian Whyte Reportedly Tests Positive For Banned Substance

Dillian Whyte reportedly tested positive for a banned substance prior to his recent fight with Oscar Rivas.

The news comes after Whyte defeated Rivas by unanimous decision on Saturday night (July 20).

Now, Boxing Scene has reported that the British heavyweight fighter was made aware that he tested positive for a banned substance three days before the matchup but, nevertheless, the fight was still given the green light.

Promoter Eddie Hearn has taken to Twitter to respond to the claims but did not confirm or deny whether Whyte tested positive.

“Further to reports I can confirm that both Dillian Whyte and Oscar Rivas were subject to extensive VADA and UKAD testing for their bout. Both fighters were cleared to fight by both bodies and BBBofC”.

At present, Whyte is still licensed to box.
