A Freedom of Information request has revealed London’s dirtiest underground line.

According to the new data, the Piccadilly Line which covers 53 stations from North London to West is in fact the dirtiest as it only receives a full service clean every 43 days in comparison to the cleanest line, the Jubilee, which receives a full service clean every 18.

The Jubilee line covers 27 stations and was the first underground section to be connected to 4G.

The Freedom of Information request submitted by Showers to You also revealed that the Central Line is fully cleaned every 27 days and the Hammersmith and City/Circle and District Lines every 28.

A spokesperson for TFL said, ‘Our cleaning schedule for Tube trains consists of three different levels of cleaning: pre-service cleans daily, further cleans every 3-4 days which include cleaning of window ledges, windows, interior panels, and then a full clean of the interior and exterior of the train around every 28 days. All seats, floors and surfaces are cleaned daily on every train as part of the pre-service clean, and any seats that are not fit for customer use are replaced.”
