After the demise of Everyday Struggle, a show in which he co-hosted with Joe Budden, it seems as if things are only getting worse for DJ Akademiks after a video surfaced online suggesting that he could be facing jail time.
For now, however, the reason for his possible imprisonment is unknown, but via his Instagram live, Akademiks stated that “this time it is serious” and that “they might get your boy”, even making references to when he “gets out”.
The DJ turned popularised gossip journalist within the Hip Hop realm has been under scrutiny for a while now, especially after his highly propagated confrontation with Migos last year at the BET Awards, as well as his recent revelations surrounding OVO Sound artist Baka’s “Live Up To My Name”, in which he leaked a highly controversial Drake reference track.
A number of videos have emerged online since the news has broken; one of which contains Ak’s live stream that shows him mention an upcoming court date, as he tells fans, “if I’m gone for the next couple weeks man, listen man, it was real. I never been to jail before.”
