DJ Steve Sutherland has passed away, it has been confirmed.
The iconic figure, who has been a continual champion for Black British culture and music, has been remembered on social media as a true hero in the industry, after MOBO Awards were amongst the first to pay tribute to the late star.
Best known for his widely popular shows with Choice FM and Galaxy FM, he also took home the title for Best Club DJ at the MOBOs in 2000.
The well-established broadcaster has interviewed a number of star-studded names from Janet Jackson to Alicia Keys, and has been a great inspiration to a lot of people in the industry.
The cause of his death is yet to be identified and no official statement has been released as of yet.
