Ramz was officially beaten to the top of the charts last week after the unstoppable force that is Drake flew to the number one spot with his track “God’s Plan”, in turn making history as the most streamed song in its first-week of release in Apple Music history.
Although Ramz did beat the target that had been set for him, to overtake Eminem in the fight to number one, he didn’t quite make it despite the mountain of support he received from artists and fans across social media. He’s still at number two this week with “Barking”. This won’t be the last you hear of Ramz however, we hear there are some new sounds coming from him real soon. Elsewhere in the charts, UK music is still dominating this week, with some great new entries to discuss.
Mist just changed the game. His new one “Game Changer” has debuted at number 35 in its first week of release. It’s the first top 40 single for the Birmingham star and sets the levels for the expectation for his achievements for the rest of the year. He’s enlisted Steel Banglez on the beat on this one and once again the link up seems to be a match made in heaven. Mist released his Diamond in the Dirt album tracklist this week and if you haven’t already seen, it’s got some crazy features. Check out the full tracklist here.
Talking of Steel Banglez, the track he’s responsible for the production of, “No Words” featuring Dave and MoStack is still in the charts as is Not3s’ “My Lover”, produced by Jay Weathers, which is also still going strong in the charts. “No Words” is at 24 again this week, making this it’s 17th week in the top 30. It’s the highest independently released single on the chart. “My Lover” has climbed one spot to 16 from 17 last week. Not3s also featured on Mabel’s latest release “Fine Line” which is in at 22 this week, meaning two tracks inside the top 40 for him. With his tour also selling out at lightning speed, Not3s has cause for celebration this week.
It’s very important to mention B Young’s track “Jumanji”. It has done an absolute madness. It’s at number 43 this week after last week’s 51. With visuals uploaded via GRM Daily’s channel, the song has catapulted into the charts, it’s a well-deserved one for the rising star. Just in case you haven’t seen the video, watch it right here.
Brit nominated J Hus and his album Common Sense needs to be mentioned again. Single “Bouff Daddy” is at 27 this week, with the album at number 26. Hus shared some clips on Instagram of him back in the studio this week, working on album number two. After the crazy success of his first album, we’re all patiently waiting to see what he can cook up next.
Big ups to Ramz for holding on to his number 2 spot! Can he make any moves next week? Check back on GRM Daily.
