UK music continues to go from strength to strength, and this week something truly special happened. Dave and Fredo’s collaboration “Funky Friday” has taken the number one spot, overtaking heavyweights like Sam Smith and Calvin Harris in the process – it is a first of hopefully many for both Fredo and Dave. It was a hard fought race, with just under 3,000 units between the top two. Dave has always picked his collaborations well, working with the likes of Mo Stack and J Hus respectively. Dave has promised that “Funky Friday” has broken his 8 month silence and we can now look forward to plenty of new music from him.

Asco’s heavyweight project Better Late Than Never has entered the charts at number 58. With an all-star supporting cast ranging from Loski to Young Adz; the mixtape is sure to climb into the top 40 over the coming weeks. If you haven’t had the chance to check out the tape yourself, check it out right here. WSTRN have released their debut album this week entitled Doub3le 3ak. Which features some sure fire hits like “Ben Ova” and “Sharna” and a whole heap of new bangers, one being the latest single off the album “Round Here” featuring Skrapz. Check out the GRM Premier right here.

Although Fredo just scored his first number one single with “Funky Friday”, his other collaboration with Young T and Bugsey “Aye Caramba” has been steadily doing bits and has climbed seven places to number 32. Five places below is one of the chart mainstay’s B Young with “079 Me”, aside from appearing on Chip’s album Ten10 we haven’t heard much of B Young; so it will be exciting to see what he has in store for us next.

Cadet and Deno Driz’s viral hit “Advice” has climbed five places up to number 45, and should hopefully enter the top 40 in next week’s charts. Another sure bet is Dappy’s new tune “All we know” which has entered the charts at number 64 but is sure to go top 40, if Dappy’s track record is anything to go by. Be sure to check back next week, to see how your favourite artists have fared in next week’s charts.
