The main question on everyone’s mind this week is going to be whether or not Ramz beat Eminem to the number one spot. After a slew of artists tweeted and filmed themselves on Insta singing the praises of the infectious banger “Barking”, it looked inevitable that the outpouring of support would help give Ramz the final push over the line. At one point he was rumoured to be less than a 100 sales behind Slim Shady. Let’s get straight to business to see if Ramz did the unthinkable!
Ramz did manage to top Eminem and Ed Sheeran, but somehow this was still not enough to land the number one spot. Drake’s surprise drop Scary Hours, which consisted of “Diplomatic Immunity” and “God’s Plan”, scuppered Ramz’s hopes of landing the number one spot this week emphatically. “God’s Plan” shot to the number one spot and broke records aplenty along the way. Drake smashed records on both Apple Music and Spotify respectively, “God’s Plan” was streamed over 14 million times worldwide on its first day of release on Apple Music and 4.3 Million streams on Spotify. With such gargantuan figures Drake was destined to clinch the number one spot, with Ramz nestling right behind him holding onto that number two spot for a second week running.
A little bit lower down we’ve got Not3s’s “My Lover” holding onto the number 17 spot and just below is Raye and Mr Eazi with their banger “Decline”, which was recently given a grimy remix by the likes of Jaykae and Z Dot; be sure to check out the remix right here if you haven’t already. The aforementioned Drake banger “Diplomatic Immunity” didn’t do quite as well as the opener and currently is sitting comfortably at number 21.
One of the catchiest hooks of the year “No Words” by Dave and Mo Stack is at number 24. With Mo Stack sporadically teasing new music on the socials it’s certainly looking like it’s going to be an exciting year for him and here’s hoping that we can get a Dave album sometime this year! The Husla’s “Bouff Daddy” finds itself just below his frequent collaborators at number 26.
Two other frequent collaborators Mabel and Not3s have hit us up with another certified hit “Fine Line”. The track has entered the charts at number 32, but is destined to climb to dizzying heights. Be sure to check back next week for another definitive chart round up!
