We’re a few weeks away from Christmas, so as you can imagine the charts are beginning to look more and more festive as we approach the 25th of December. The highest new entry this week comes from Clean Bandit with their new album What is Love? Which goes straight in at number 19. Our very own Steff London features on the track “Last Goodbye”.
Debuting at number 33, is the long awaited return of Meek Mill, with Championships. The album has been making a lot of noise since it dropped, mostly because of a Drake collaboration and an incredible verse from Jay Z. The Drake collab “Going Bad”, goes straight into the singles charts at number 17 & “What’s Free” with Jigga and Rick Ross falls outside of the top 40 at number 55.
Back on home soil, Dave and Fredo have just slipped outside the top ten, now sitting at number 12. The pair have been in the charts for an incredible nine weeks, eight of those spent inside the top ten – a truly remarkable feat for UK rap. With Fredo’s album slated for an early 2019 release, we’re expecting another milestone to be reached. The tour is sure to be pandemonium, with the first London date already sold out. Hopefully, we get some updates on Dave’s 2019 schedule real soon.
It took Christmas songs to move Dave and Fredo outside the top ten, the same fate has pushed Cadet and Deno Driz outside the top 40, who now find themselves sitting at number 46 with “Advice”. One below is “Airforce” from Digdat which broke into the top 20 last week.
As we approach the quieter release period for music, we can expect more Christmas tunes to continue to dominate; although GRM Daily recently premiered viral star Ferdi’s debut music video and it has amassed over a million views in just two days. The power of social media means we might see Ferdi in the charts next week! Check out the video here if you missed it, and be sure to check back next week for all the latest chart news.
