2019 has picked up where 2018 left off and continued to break records and barriers alike. It’s only two weeks into the new year and already another milestone has been reached. Headie One has scored his first UK top ten record with his massive collaboration with Dave, “18 HUNNA”.

The track has gone straight in at number six, and it narrowly misses out the number five spot. The unexpected collaborative effort was previewed with a snippet of the visuals going viral and spawning countless memes – although the tune is certainly no laughing matter, with both Headie and Dave dropping some serious rhymes over the expertly 169-produced instrumental.

Another headline-grabbing story this week is about another wavey collaboration. We’re talking about NSG and Tion Wayne of course, who teamed up to create their new banger “Options”. The tune has sky rocketed up 55 places straight into number 25 taking out Rita Ora, Calvin Harris and Sheck Wes on the way.

Jae5 who produced “Options” is of course also the mastermind behind J Hus’ legendary debut album Common Sense. Jae has quickly built a reputation for himself as one of the scenes finest producers – proving to not be a one trick pony and adding Jess Glynn’s number one album Always in between to his already impressive resume.

Cadet and Deno Driz are still doing bits after 16 weeks in the charts. Last week the tune found its second wind and gained its peak position thus far, coming in at number 27. Despite slipping three spots to number 30, the pair have still done great things with something that started off as an Instagram freestyle.

The pair’s second appearance in the charts “Pumpy”, alongside AJ and Swarmz, comes in at number 87 this week. If you haven’t had a chance to catch the visuals premiered on the channel, then check them out right here.

Russ’ “Gun Lean” remains inside the top 40 this week, just clinching the number 39 spot. The tune has been making waves across the pond and has caught the attention of our American cousins; specifically Safaree who took to Insta to tease his own remix of the drill smash. Check that out right here.

Dave’s second appearance on the chart is of course his very first number one single “Funky Friday” alongside west London Barrer, Fredo. The track now stands at number 50 after 14 weeks in the charts.

Fredo’s due to smack up the charts in the coming weeks when his debut album Third Avenue drops. Check out some of the other artists who we cannot wait to hear from in 2019 right here.
