We haven’t had too many big album releases from our power players for a minute now, as they’re all holed up in their respective studios across the country as they cook up some fresh produce for our listening pleasure. It’s a quiet week this week in the charts, as we wait with baited breathe for some pre summer heat. Despite this, there are still some artists doing numbers-lets go straight in and have a look at who’s doing what on this week’s charts.

J Hus is most certainly one of those artists who we’re waiting to hear from since the release of Common Sense which peaked at number six and has been in the charts for 46 weeks and counting. Criminally, it didn’t reach number one and was not recognised with any gongs at the Brits, but in years to come the effect of this album will be felt. The Hustla teased on Twitter that he had two tunes he was ready to release and break his silence, until then Common Sense is still in heavy rotation.

B Young’s infectious banger “Jumani” holds strong for another week, and makes it an impressive nine weeks inside the top 20 currently at sitting pretty at number 14. After such success with this release, B Young has to ensure he follows this up with something equally as big. B Young is flanked by two more serial hit makers, with Mabel and Not3s placing at number 15. “Fine Line” has been one of those inescapable tunes over the last few months pulsating in car stereo and raves across the country. Not3s and Mabel are both artists that are certainly destined for big things over the coming months.

Just outside the top 20 at number 26 is the hard collaboration from M.O, Lotto Boyzz and Mr Eazi on “Bad Vibe”. M.O are another group of artists that GRM has earmarked for success, and this collaborative effort has been a great way of showcasing their wares to a wider audience. Be sure to keep it locked for any further developments. Kojo funds is another artist which was earmarked for success by GRM Daily and has been going from strength to strength. His latest collab with Raye, “Check”, is proof of that, currently at number 32 and being in the charts for the last 26 weeks, a few of those weeks was spent inside the top ten, this is certainly no mean feat.

MoStack took a short break from release solo music after his Rated Award winning mixtape High Street Kid, although he was not releasing any solo tracks, he killed every feature he was on whether it was “No Words” alongside Dave or “Mash Up” with J Hus. “What I Wanna” was Mo Stack’s 2018 return to solo shelling, the track currently resides at number 33 and has recently been remixed by Bristolian garage producer/DJ extraordinaire Conducta which you should definitely check if you haven’t already.  Keep it locked for next week’s instalment of Doing Numbers.
