As the year draws to a close, the charts still bear the markings of the festive season, with the usual suspects – Mariah Carey, Wham and the Pogues still occupying the number two, three and four respectively. The story of the week of this week’s charts is undoubtedly Russ’ “Gun Lean” landing the number 61 spot just under two weeks after it dropped. The tune comes complete with a viral dance that has set timelines up and down the country alight; a great end to the year for the artist.

Post Malone and Swae Lee’s collaboration “Sunflower” from the Spiderman film comes in at number 19 this week, just slipping into the top 20. One of the biggest tunes of the year “ZeZe” – which saw Kodak Black, Travis Scott and Offset collaborate has now slipped to number 34 after 11 weeks in the charts. The absolutely crazy instrumental saw many people attempt to do their own versions of it, with arguably one of the hardest being Brum Town’s very own Mist; you can check out the GRM Daily premiere of the visuals right here.

Another UK success story has been Cadet and Deno Driz with their smash “Advice” which saw the two playfully going back to back. The tune was first seen on Instagram – a form of guerrilla advertising that many artists seem to be utilising. “Advice” has now spent 14 weeks in the charts, and we’re excited to what the pair have in store for us next.

One of the biggest stories of the year has to be the huge collaboration between Dave and Fredo which reigned supreme in the charts in October scooping the number one spot. After spending eight weeks in the top ten, the tune is now at number 92. Here’s hoping the Fredo and Dave collaboration “All I ever Wanted”, due to appear on Fredo’s debut album out in February; can achieve similar success in the charts. Check out the track listing for Fredo’s debut album out right here.

J Cole has been the king of the feature this year, killing every tune he featured on. He closes out the year with arguably one of his hardest features. “A Lot” enters the charts this week at number 99, however the 21 Savage and J Cole collab is sure to see serious movements up the charts in 2019. Be sure to keep it locked on GRM Daily in the New Year for the most definitive chart roundup.
